Faculty Growth
After getting the status of university, GC University, Faisalabad is continuously endeavoring for skilled and qualified faculty. The faculty comprises of 256 qualified members having 50 PhD and 31 M.Phil degree holders. Hopefully, more PhDs will be inducted in the near future as per requirement of HEC

University initiated the four years degree programs in 2005 and is promoting this facility in more disciplines.

Semester
System
University has adopted Semester system in all disciplines, being an intensive system of delivery and assessment with more scope for the students to choose the options of their own choice. It is a student friendly and flexible system aimed at gradual bolstering of all the facets of students academic growth.

Enrollment
The enrollment of the students at graduate and postgraduate level has increased substantially since the establishment of the university.
Year Wise Enrollment
Total enrollment of the students at graduate and postgraduate level is approximately 8000.
Female Enrollment
The number of female students has substantially increased after the establishment of the university. More then 2500 female students are now on university rolls.

Digital
Library
The importance of dissemination of knowledge and keeping at par with up-to-date information can never be under-estimated. In this fast-paced, interconnected world of global village one cannot afford to remain isolated. All the student and faculty members of the university are being provided the facility of networking, free of cost access to internet, digital libraries and high speed downlink through the Digital Library. The students and the staff members now, having free access and download facility are prone to consult online books and journals from all over the world leading towards a better research output.

International Conferences /Symposium
Department of Botany, GC University Faisalabad, organized a three days international symposium on “Applications of Plant Sciences in Emerging Scenario” from 20-22 March 2006. About 150 indigenous and 7 overseas scholars attended the symposium. The Governor of the Punjab also joined one of the technical sessions on 21st March 2006.
International conferences on Urdu and Chemistry are going to be held in August and November 2006, respectively. These academic and scholarly events will enhance the image of University internationally.

Human
Resource Development Centre
Human Resource Development Center was established in GC University Faisalabad in June 2006 under the auspices of National Academy of Higher Education. The first batch of Staff Development Course is being trained from 24th July to 21st of August 2006. Two more Staff Development Courses for faculty members of the University and teaching staff of feeder colleges are being planned in the current year. Higher Education Commission has allocated Rs. 766,800/- for this purpose. Human Resource Development Committee is working under the supervision of Vice Chancellor.

Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC)
To uplift the quality of education and research, GC University Faisalabad has established a Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) under the directions of Chancellor/Governor and Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. QEC is responsible for setting up of appropriate internal procedures for attaining quality education and research standards. Dean Faculty of Science & Technology is the chairperson of this cell.

Linkage
of the University with Research Institutions and Industry
The University has signed MoU, to make the linkage with University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Bank Alfalah, S.S. International, Karachi, Ayub Agriculture Research Institute, World Wide Fund for Nature, Pakistan, Department of Psychiatry, PMC, Faisalabad, Institute of Bankers Pakistan and UNDP for the propose of internship and placement of the students, sharing of lab resources, exchange of staff and research resources. University has also collaborative arrangement with Sitara Chemicals, Nishat Textile Mills, AMTEX, CHENAB, Shahzad Siddique Textile, Jaguar, MSC Textile Mills, PINUM and Civil Aviation Authority.

Industrial Exhibition and Technology Fair
University has initiated a tradition of holding an annual Industrial Exhibition and Technology Fair and has been successful in synergizing University - Industry partnership after three successful events during 2003, 2004 and 2005 respectively. This annual event has certainly enhanced high-gain research on developmental\social issues that otherwise would have not been possible for the University.

Professional
Development of Faculty
Five faculty members have joined Post Doctorate program under HEC Faculty Development Program. Sixty seven faculty members are enrolled in different universities for PhD /M.Phil. One hundred and thirty four faculty members attended the in-service training workshops conducted by HEC and other foray during the last two years.

Construction of Five Academic Blocks
First of proposed five blocks is almost complete. It is donated by Mr. Waqar Yousaf, exstudent of this institution. The donor has also promised to build State of the Art Library at the university campus. The second block funded by Punjab Govt. is likely to be available by the end of the year. Planning for the rest of three blocks is in pipe line.

New
Campus
Government of the Punjab has allotted approximately 400 acres of land to the university for New Campus. The capital cost for development of infrastructure is Rs. 3351.63 million.

Faculty Hiring Program
Foreign Faculty Hiring Program has been initiated in the University. Some internationally known scholars have already been contacted in this respect. This will prove useful for academic and research promotion in the University.

HEC
Appreciation and Recognition
HEC inspection team visited the university in April 2006 and registered satisfaction on the progress of the university. According to its report, “with present pace of development GCUF is likely to become a good seat of learning in near future”.
