The IEEE, a non-profit organization, is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. The full name of the IEEE is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., although the organization is referred to by the letters I-E-E-E and pronounced Eye-triple-E.
IEEE members are engineers, scientists and allied professionals whose technical interests are rooted in electrical and computer sciences, engineering and related disciplines About 1,570 chapters unite local members with similar technical interests.
The IEEE has: more than 365,000 members, including 68,000 students, in over 150 countries. There are 311 sections in ten geographic regions worldwide.
