About Prof. Dr. Sofia Anwar

Prof. Dr. Sofia Anwar started her career from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, in 1997. Later she joined the Directorate of Economics and Marketing, Government of Punjab. She earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan in 2004. In 2007, she joined Department of Economics, University of Sargodha and later joined Government College University Faisalabad back in 2011. Apart from academics, she has served at various administrative positions as Director of Advanced Studies, Director Undergraduate Studies, Convener Admission committee, Chairperson Hall Council, and Chairperson of the Department of Economics at Government College University Faisalabad. She has also served as Acting Vice Chancellor at GCWUF.

war has assumed the charge of Dean, Faulty of Economics & Management Sciences in 2021. Currently, she is a member of different important fora of the GCUF including member of Board of Studies, Board of Faculty, Selection Board, and Syndicates of various public sector universities. She has more than 100 research articles on her credit and has supervised more than 50 M.Phil and 5 Ph.D. scholars. She has completed national and international research projects. Collectively, she has more than 23 years of experience as an academician and an administrator.
