Mission

Close Collaboration and healthy competitions within the Departments of the University and participation of GCUF Sports team in All Pakistan Inter-Varsity Sports Competitions, under the auspicious of Higher Education Commission Islamabad, to promote Sports activities at various levels.

Introduction

The Directorate of Sports was established on 23-Oct, 2003, when the Govt. College Faisalabad, was granted the status of GC University, Faisalabad. It has produced eminent professional players like, Mr. Shahbaz Senior, best Hockey player of the World.

Objectives

• The Department is striving to provide National and International Players for promotion of Sports at University and National Level.
• Capacity Building of Players both Male and Female.
• Organize Training Programs for students, separately for Male and Female Players.
• The awards of Cash Prizes and Sports Scholarships to encourage the budding student players, who win medals at Inter-Varsity and National Championships.
• Create healthy environment in the campus through Sports activities.
• Organize Sports Competitions among the Departments and award the Certificates and Trophies to the Position holder players.

Achievements at All Pakistan Inter-Varsity Sports Competitions

Cricket (Men)

HEC Kamyab Jawan Sports Gala 2021-2022 was held at Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad. The Cricket Men championship Zone (E) was hosted by Islamia University Bhawal Pur (IUB) under the supervision of HEC Islamabad. More than 05 Universities participated in this championship. The Final match of Zone (E) was played among Govt. College University Faisalabad vs Islamia University Bhawal Pur. Govt. College University Faisalabad got Runner Up position in Zone (E).

Foot Ball (Men)

HEC Kamyab Jawan Sports Gala 2021-2022 was held at Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad. The Foot ball Men championship Zone (E) was hosted by Islamia University Bhawal Pur (IUB) under the supervision of HEC Islamabad. More than 05 Universities participated in this championship. Govt. College University Faisalabad got 4th position in Zone (E).

Badminton (Men)

HEC Kamyab Jawan Sports Gala 2021-2022 was held at Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad. The Badminton Men championship Zone (E) was hosted by Khawja Fareed University Raheem Yar Khan under the supervision of HEC Islamabad. More than 08 Universities participated in this championship. The Final match of Zone (E) was played among Govt. College University Faisalabad vs. Superior University Lahore. Govt. College University Faisalabad got Runner Up position in Zone (E). Badminton Men Team of Govt. College University Faisalabad qualifies in super eight round from103 team in All Pakistan Intervarsity Badminton Championship (M) held at Peshawar University and got 6 position in this championship.

Hockey (Men)

HEC Kamyab Jawan Sports Gala 2021-2022 was held at Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad. The Hockey Men championship Zone (E) was hosted by Govt. College University Faisalabad under the supervision of HEC Islamabad. 04 Universities participated in this championship. The Final match of Zone (E) was played among Govt. College University Faisalabad vs. Superior University Lahore. Govt. College University Faisalabad got Winner position in Zone (E). Hockey Men Team of Govt. College University Faisalabad qualifies in super eight round from 64 team in HEC All Pakistan Intervarsity Hockey Championship (M) and got 6 position in this championship.

Volley Ball (Women)

HEC Kamyab Jawan Sports Gala 2021-2022 was held at Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad. The Volley Ball Women championship was hosted by Govt. College Women University Faisalabad under the supervision of HEC Islamabad. More than 47 Universities participated in this championship. Govt. All Pakistan INTERVARSITY BADMINTON WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2021-2022 hosted by Govt. College University Faisalabad UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF HEC. 32 universities were participating in said championship including 192 players and 64 Officials. The Badminton Women Team of Govt. College University Faisalabad Qualified for quarter final.

HEC National Badminton (Women)

The Govt. College University Faisalabad participate in 59th National badminton women Championship 2022 held at DHA sports complex phase-6 Lahore.
